RETURN A YOGA + REST PRACTICE FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR

Return is a yoga and rest practice created specifically for people of color. 

​

It is a space to pause, breathe, and reconnect with your body, in community. In a world that often asks us to move faster, carry more and push through exhaustion, Return offers a different rhythm- one rooted in restoration, presence and care. 

​

This practice centers gentle movement, rest and connection. Classes are taught by rotating instructors and may include elements of yoga, breathwork, meditation, other restorative or movement practices, and sound and energy work. 

​

Return is not about performance, flexibility, or productivity. 

It's about coming back to yourself. 

​

WHY THIS SPACE EXISTS

Wellness spaces often speak about healing, regulation and rest- but many of those spaces were not designed with people of color in mind.

​

For many of us, moving through daily life can mean navigating environments that required constant awareness, adaptation and resilience. over time, that takes a toll on the body and nervous system.

​

Return was created to offer a space where black and brown folks can practice rest without needing to explain themselves and navigate micro-aggressions. 

​

This is a place to slow down. To breathe. To reconnect with the body in a way that feels supportive and sustainable. 

​

Rest is not a luxury. It is a part of our collective well-being.

​

WHAT TO EXPECT

Each Return gathering centers gentle, accessible practices that support restoration and community. ​

  • Practices may include:

  • Gentle or restorative yoga

  • Breathwork

  • Meditation

  • Sound or energy healing

  • Guided rest and meditation practices

  • Reflection

  • Pilates

  • Ecstatic dance

  • Other movement or somatic based modalities

Classes are intentionally slower paced and adaptable for a range of experience levels. No previous yoga experience is necessary.

​

Participants are always encouraged to move, modify or rest in ways that feels right for their bodies. No pressure, no judgement.

​

TEACH WITH RETURN

Return is committed to expanding who leads and shapes our wellness spaces. 

​

We invite yoga teachers, movement practitioners, healing facilitators, and other community leaders of color to lead offerings within the Return container. 

​

Teaching with Return is a paid opportunity. We believe the labor of holding space and facilitating healing work should be valued and compensated.

​

We welcome a wide array of modalities, including:

  • Yoga + movement practices

  • Restorative or somatic practices

  • Meditation + Breathwork

  • Sound healing

  • Energy work

  • Embodied workshops or community-centered healing practices

​

Return centers practices that support restoration, nervous system care, and collective well-being. We are especially interested in facilitators whose work is rooted in accessibility, cultural awareness and community care. 

​

Teaching opportunities may include single classes, workshops, or collaborative offerings. 

​
